1. YOU APOLOGISE FOR LIVING

If someone bumps into you on the street, do you apologise? People with low self-esteem often suffer from a faulty self-image.
What to do instead: When you hear yourself apologising, acknowledge that the apology is inappropriate and remind yourself that you did not do anything wrong. If you let yourself do otherwise there is a possible chance that you can't get it under control because low self esteem is always going to be there however you can block it away.

2. LUCK

When something great happens to you, do you say you were just lucky or blessed or in the right place at the right time? Do you take things one step further and even say you don't know why they happened because you are not worthy  The truth is, you probably worked your ass off to get where you are. Your talents, intelligence, and personality is all part of what you do and because of how good you are and how amazing you are you will always get to where you want to and that is why good things happen to you all the time.


What do do instead: When someone gives you a compliment, practice simply saying "thank you." Also, why not own that you are awesome and you got that promotion because you are really good at what you do?

3.Can't Handle Praise

People who have low self esteem are uncomfortable and have trouble accepting praise. They usually deflect it or put themselves down. I have this and I feel like if I don't start taking it now I will live like that for the rest of my life. So I think it is best to get it under control now or at an early age rather than later at an older age. 
What to do instead: When someone says that was amazing take it ! They have said that because you as an individual are amazing and you saying no etc. just puts you down even more each time.

4. Being Indecisive 

When you can't decide, there are usually a few reasons: You don't want to take responsibility for making the wrong decision, you believe that what you want is not as important as what someone else wants and/or you really don't know what to do. Apart from not knowing what to do, the other reasons are warning signs of low self esteem. Anytime you feel that you are not as important as someone else or you don't deserve something, you are lowering your esteem. 

What to do instead: Make that decision because the world is full of people making mistakes - no one is perfect. You need to realise that the more your self esteem gets lowered the more hard work its going to be to 1. Higher it and block it away and 2. The more it doesn't help for your health.

5. Overly Apologise 

People suffering from a low self-esteem may believe that everything that goes wrong is because of something they’ve done. This is primarily because they are completely unaware of their self-worth. They only see their faults and not their many gifts and talents. Does this sound like something you do? The next time you find yourself apologising, try to realise that your apology is unnecessary as you have done nothing wrong.

What to do instead: Re-think what happened and was you the cause? As if you apologise for everything all the time it is just going to be a habit. Don't only see your faults but see your special talent and always try your best!
